Waterwalker was painted and titled in memory of Canadian naturalist and filmmaker Bill Mason.
To further honour Mason’s legacy of sharing the magic of canoeing in Northern Ontario I will be donating 25% of all proceeds from the sales of this print to the Bob Boutilier Memorial Fund (part of the Taylor Statten Camping Bursary Fund) to assist in sending kids to Camp Wanapitei (Temagami, ON). I spent five summers at Camp Wanapitei as a teenager canoe tripping in Temagami and eventually a 56 day trip in the Northwest Territories. These experiences which I was extremely fortunate enough to have had shaped my artistic career as well as my personal development. The challenges I faced while enduring extremely difficult and challenging canoe trips gave me a foundation I would later turn back to while struggling with alcohol addiction. I am certain that my time spent in the wilderness of Temagami and the Canadian wilderness was crucial in my path to sobriety and how I have changed my life for the better without relapse.

Camping and canoe-tripping is a formative, character-building endeavor, especially in childhood. I want to help kids make their own memories and have their own life-changing experiences at Camp Wanapitei. I want to make this the first of many more dotations to the Bob Boutilier Memorial Fund. Please help me make this a successful print sale. I will continue to make more print releases for this charity so that more kids can get help to go to camp and learn to love canoeing.
